Message from Principal Emogene South
| I am proud of
the staff, students, and parents at Johnson County Middle School.
JCMS houses both grades 7 and 8. These can be very difficult years
for both students and parents due to all the developmental and social
changes students go through during this time. We are continuously
striving to ease the transition from elementary childhood to middle school
adolescences. We also encourage parents to continue to be an active
part of their child's education during these difficult years by working
with teachers and joining our Parent Advisory Committee. We are proud to be from Johnson County and are dedicated to providing to providing students as well rounded educational experience. We have a highly qualified staff which is dedicated to continuously evaluating our academic program to continue to improve our school. We are implementing various techniques to help us continue to meet all state and NCLB requirements. Reading and Language Arts is the focus for our school. We feel that academics is most important to help develop student character as well. We are working to mentor students daily. Students are also encouraged to get involved in extra curricular activities. We offer many activities for students to become involved in: Jr. BETA, Science Club, Yearbook Staff, chorus, band, Talent Search, Student Advisory, tutoring, and a very active athletic department.
