CURRICULUM

The lessons and activities in my class integrate reading, writing, listening, speaking, spelling, and grammar following the Tennessee Curriculum Standards*.  In addition, each student will participate in the Accelerated Reader program and will be responsible for attaining a pre-set number of points each nine-week grading period.   Your child’s point goal and reading level is written on the inside of his or her student handbook.

GRADING SCALE

School-wide grading scale will be followed.

Class Rules

1.               Follow directions the first time given.

2.               Complete all assignments.

3.               Keep hands, feet, and objects to yourself.

4.               Be on time and be prepared.

5.               Respect others and their belongings.

6.               Talk only with permission.

Consequences:

1^st Offense:      Name on board:  Warning

2^nd Offense:    Check by name:  Written assignment

3^rd Offense:    Two checks:  30 minutes ASD; pink slip written

4^th Offense:    Three checks:  60 minutes ASD; pink slip        

                      written; parent contacted

***Severe disruption:  Sent to office immediately

*****Names are erased at the end of the period every Friday

J J J Positive consequences for appropriate behavior:  Tickets will be given to students displaying appropriate behavior during the class period.   Drawings for various prizes will be held each Friday.
